For a coach or consultant, the calendar is the business. Every client starts as a sales call, so the number of good calls you take each week sets the ceiling on what you can earn. If the calendar is empty, nothing else matters. If it is full of the wrong people, you burn hours and close nothing.
Most coaches rely on content, referrals and the occasional podcast guest spot. Those all help, but none of them can be turned up on demand. This post covers how to build a calendar you can fill on purpose, with people who can actually buy.
Nick Glading, a business coach, reached $50k a month in 5 months with our Dealflow program. His advice to other coaches was that it does not matter if you are making $10k, $50k or $100k a month. The system is the same at every level: get the right people on calls, consistently.
More calls are not the goal. More qualified calls are. Write down exactly who a good call is with:
This list becomes your ad targeting, your outbound list filters and the questions on your booking form. Everything downstream gets easier once it exists.
Coaches tend to sell "working with me." Buyers want to know what they will have at the end. A clear offer names the person, the result and the timeframe or method. For example: "I help agency owners add a second sales rep and get them closing in 90 days." Specific beats clever every time.
Keep one main offer. Three programs on one page make people stop and think, and people who stop to think usually leave.
Test the sentence before you spend a dollar on it. Say it to three past clients and ask whether it describes what they got from working with you. Then say it to someone who fits your buyer profile but has never heard of you. If they ask a follow-up question about the result, the offer is working. If they ask what you actually do, it needs another pass.
The funnel for a coach does not need to be complicated. It needs to move a stranger from interest to a booked call with as few steps as possible:
Pratik H., a brand consultant, booked 13 sales appointments in just 6 days through the Dealflow funnel program. A funnel like this does not need months to show you whether it works. When the offer and the targeting are right, calls start showing up on the calendar quickly, and you can see what to improve from real data.
A lead who fills in your form is thinking about their problem right now. An hour later they are back in their inbox. Speed matters more than polish here.
Ads bring people to you. Outbound lets you pick exactly who you talk to. For consultants who sell to a specific type of business, cold email and LinkedIn outreach are often the fastest way to fill gaps in the calendar.
Keep it simple. Build a list that matches your qualified call profile. Send short, plain messages that name a problem and ask if they want to talk about it. Follow up a few times. Reply to every response the same day.
On LinkedIn, make your profile headline say who you help and the result you get them, because every prospect you message will look at it before they reply. Connect first, send a short note once they accept, and keep the first message about them, not about your program.
Cameron J. said that after implementing Avi's strategy, he is booking 5 new sales calls per day. At that pace the problem stops being "where will my next client come from" and becomes "how do I handle all these calls," which is a much better problem to have.
